Lance Rest Details

The lance rest was made detacheable so that it could be removed when the knight was not using a lance. It was attached by means of four staples and a wedge-shaped pin. By using the top or bottom three staples only, the lance rest could be moved up or down as necessary. Each staple was riveted through the breastplate and through an ovular reinforcing plate on the inside of the breast.
